WCC Chorus Festival- April 24th
Tomorrow- Thur April 24th is our WCC Chorus Festival!!
The Honor Chorus members will attend a rehearsal at Brimfield from 9am-1:15p.m. Lunch will be served at Brimfield- student should bring about $5 for their lunch. We will return to FCJHS about 2:00 and students will finish out the school day.
THEN- ALL 7th and 8th Grade Chorus members need to be at school by 5:45p.m for us to leave at 6 to go back to Brimfield for the Festival Concert and Art Show. The concert will feature the Honor Chorus as well as performances by each individual chorus attending the event. Concert is at 7p.m. and all family and friends are welcome to attend!
IGSMA Solo & Ensemble Contest
CONGRATS to all FCJHS students who participated in IGSMA Solo & Ensemble Contest on Friday, March 13th!!! Overall, we earned 32 Division I ratings, 20 Division II ratings, and 2 Division III ratings! (See file in 'FCJHS Information' below for individual event ratings). GREAT JOB FCJHS BAND AND CHORUS STUDENTS!!!!
March 5th Concert- CANCELLED
March 5th concert will be rescheduled. With the great amount of snow days, we are feeling rather set back in rehearsal time. That also happens to be ISAT testing week, so we felt it would be best to reschedule the concert for a later date. I am working on finding our reschedule date and will post it as soon as I have it set! Thank you for your flexibility and patience- winter has wreaked havoc on this semester!

Congrats to T.J. Benedict on being the first to earn his BLACKBELT in our KA-RA-TAY Themed Music Proficiency Contest!! During the contest, students earn various "belts" as they complete skill tests on major scales, minor scales, playing tests, music theory project, composition project, Secret Serenades, and SmartMusic assignments. Congrats T.J.! Keep up the hard work!
IMEA District 2 Particants!!
GREAT JOB to all the students who auditioned for IMEA this last Saturday! The audition music is very difficult and the competition is tough- I'm proud of all of you for trying your best!!
CONGRATS to the following students for being accepted to IMEA District 2 Festival! Brent Austin- trumpet, Shelby Franken- clarinet, Abby Newcomb- clarinet, Brittany Cook-Junior Treble Choir, Alyssa Ulm- Junior Treble Choir, Jamie Huffman-Junior Treble Choir, and Fantasia Snyder- Junior Treble Choir.
These students will attend the IMEA District 2 Festival on November 9th at Augustana College in Rock Island!!
Golden Wave Parents - HELP
Your help is needed for the HOME football games and the competitions. That involves moving equipment(drum major podiums and flags) on and off the field and going to the events. The first home game is Friday, September 6 and the first competition is Saturday, September 7 at the Washington Panther Invitational.
Let's get on the "Band Wagon"! Come to the performances and cheer on the "Golden Wave.
